Eclectic Boutique is a partnership between Island locals, Chrisy Macleod and Heidi Altmann, who have been working together for several years and who have found a real niche on the island. It’s the true passion that they both have for their individual businesses and products, that makes this a success with their underlying drive to provide unique products and service to the local market, and for visitors to Waiheke.
Heidi is an Interior Designer & Stylist ('heidi & me. interior design'), having lived on Waiheke for 18 years with her husband and 3 children. Her quest to source different and unique furniture for her clients, an environmental consciousness and her love of refinishing vintage furniture led her to turn this into a business, creating all of the furniture under her brand ‘Hey Wilma’. Her furniture is well sought after, and is often sent all over New Zealand...travelling as far afield as Arrowtown! Each piece of her furniture is different, and although they are distinctive in their design and quality of finish; no two pieces are the same.
Chrisy moved to the Island over 7 years ago with her kiwi hubby and 3 boys, from Dublin. She’s been involved in the ragtrade for her entire working career; working in buying, sourcing, manufacturing, agency and distribution. Arriving on Waiheke she could see that there was a gap in the market catering for Waiheke’s more discerning fashion customers, so decided to call on her extensive background in the industry and give it a go. With all of her previous experience being in other parts of the fashion industry, she decided it would be interesting to see how it was to be a retailer, as she had been selling to retailers for many years.
